When I take the computer into the same room as the Airport Express the strength improves to exellent, but that doesn't necessarily mean the performance improves. The signal strength usually varies from good to low to very low. On this network there at most two other computers running: one Apple and one pc. This location is in an isolated area where there is no interference from other signals.
This computer is getting an internet signal through the following hardware: The internet service is AT&T Elite Speed DSL, up to 6.0 MBS download speed. It took me about fifteen minutes to get to the point of being able to write this. The screenshot shows what happened after I turned on the computer and opened my homepage/browser, nothing else. Sometimes my computer runs great, sometimes it runs very slow, and I get "unresponsive program" messages often.
